NI seeks an entry-level R&D Test Engineer to develop and implement automated test platforms integrating hardware and software in a hybrid work setting.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with NI R&D software and hardware teams and other business groups in Austin, Texas, and Debrecen, Hungary
  • Conduct research to develop or enhance test solutions
  • Specify, design, test, and deploy automated test solutions for manufacturing computer-based instruments
  • Define and implement project plans, manage milestones, and conduct reviews to ensure test system readiness for product release
  • Integrate hardware and software to support manufacturing tests for existing and new products
  • Develop test applications using programming skills on desktop and industrial PCs
  • Review and approve product specifications and customer user documentation
  • Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge within the company

About You

The company is looking for:

  • B.S. in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or mechatronics engineering
  • Strong understanding of computers and high-level programming languages; LabVIEW and TestStand are advantages
  • Knowledge of measurement error sources, instrumentation selection, statistical data analysis, software design and architecture, and hardware-software integration
  • Passion for learning test industry technologies
  • Strong work ethic and drive to succeed
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
  • Preferred: ability to work effectively in group environments, problem-solving skills, initiative, independence, persistence, ownership of goals and schedules, attentive listening, quick learning, and effective English communication skills
