Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Integrate front-end elements with server-side logic and functionalities
  • Collaborate with product teams & engineering professionals (especially front-end engineers)
  • Optimize the platform for faster execution and solve scalability issues
  • Use a holistic, test-oriented approach to troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and work independently

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or IT (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of experience in back-end web development (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
  • Proficiency in back-end technologies like Python, Node.js, Ruby, Java, PHP, etc.
  • Understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors
  • Knowledge of algorithms and data structures
  • Fluent in English to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of security compliance and accessibility
  • Experience with code versioning tools such as Git
  • Working knowledge of front-end technologies such as ReactJS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.
  • Familiarity with data migration, data transformation, scripting, authentication, and user authorization
